Tesla recalls 4,000 2024 Cybertrucks in latest recall.

Published on

Tesla is issuing a recall for 3,878 of its 2024 Cybertrucks due to a safety concern with the accelerator pedal. The company discovered that the pedal could become stuck, potentially leading to unintended acceleration and an increased risk of a crash. According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the accelerator pedal pad may dislodge and get trapped by the interior trim.

Although Tesla has not received reports of any collisions, injuries, or fatalities related to this issue, it is taking proactive measures to address the problem. The recall affects model year 2024 Cybertrucks produced between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024. Owners will have the accelerator pedal assembly replaced or repaired free of charge, and notification letters are expected to be sent out in June. Despite the setback, Tesla had delivered a few Cybertruck pickups to customers in November, having faced challenges in mass production as acknowledged by CEO Elon Musk during a conference call in October.
