Poll Shows Trump Holding Wide Lead Over Haley in New Hampshire Primary

Donald Trump leads in support among New Hampshire voters over Nikki Haley, his last remaining challenger for the Republican presidential nomination. A poll reveals that 52% of potential primary voters are behind Trump, while 34% are backing Haley. Haley has doubled her support from 18% to 34% and has been aligning moderates and independent voters who plan to participate in the primary, while Trump’s support has grown by six percentage points over the same period. With the recent endorsement from DeSantis, Trump looks poised to stretch his lead further and further.

In the same poll, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was at 8 percent, but his recent announcement of suspending his campaign could further increase Trump’s lead. New Hampshire offers Haley the best opportunity to challenge Trump’s momentum, but it seems unlikely that she has gained significant ground since the Iowa caucuses. Trump’s supporters appear more committed to turning out than Haley’s do. Trump’s favorability rating is 23 points net positive, with 59 percent of New Hampshire Republican primary voters rating him favourably and 36 percent unfavourably.

Despite being the former ambassador to the United Nations, Haley’s lead in the polls among New Hampshire’s Republican primary voters has decreased since November. Trump has a wide margin over Haley in trust to handle issues such as immigration policy, economic policy, and foreign policy. He also boasts a 52-point lead among White evangelical Christians, and nearly 1 in 4 New Hampshire Republican voters saying they were personally contacted to vote for Trump.
