The security guards patrolling the area around Hegenberger Road between Leet and Edgewater drives in Oakland have reported a significant number of break-ins at the In-N-Out fast-food restaurant located at 8300 Oakport St. According to one guard from Brosnan Risk Consultants, the restaurant experiences multiple break-ins daily, with the number sometimes reaching up to five on a regular day. These theft reports have raised concerns among the security personnel, who fear retaliation for speaking out about the situation. In response, In-N-Out has announced plans to potentially relocate affected workers to nearby locations and offer severance pay, as well as continue supporting local charitable organizations through its foundations.

The situation at the Oakland In-N-Out has led to heightened security measures, with guards undertaking regular and nighttime patrols to monitor for potential break-ins not only at the fast-food restaurant but also at gas stations along Hegenberger Road, a nearby commercial plaza, and a Chevron on 98th Avenue. The significant number of theft reports at the In-N-Out has prompted discussions about the potential relocation of workers to other nearby restaurants operated by the company, including locations in Alameda, Pinole, Mill Valley, Daly City, San Francisco, San Leandro, and Union City. Alternatively, individuals affected by the break-ins may receive severance pay from In-N-Out as compensation for the situation.

Despite the challenges posed by the frequent break-ins, In-N-Out has announced its commitment to continuing support for local charitable organizations through two of its foundations. This demonstrates the company’s dedication to giving back to the community, even amidst the security concerns and potential impacts on its workforce. The ongoing support for charitable initiatives reflects In-N-Out’s efforts to uphold its corporate responsibility and make a positive impact beyond its commercial operations.
