The Stardew Valley 1.6 update has finally arrived on PC, bringing with it a massive list of new features and changes. Some of the most notable updates include new festivals, a mastery system for powerful perks, additional NPC dialogues, the ability to have multiple pets, and a new world map for Ginger Island. Players can also look forward to gender-neutral clothes, winter outfits for NPCs, and the option to put hats on cats and dogs, among many other enhancements.

One significant improvement in the update is the fixing of a bug that made it faster to harvest from left to right, as well as an expansion of the sword’s area of effect for better “game feel.” Additionally, saplings now grow faster when trees are chopped down, and mature trees will yield saplings of the same quality as the tree and its fruit. Moreover, the update introduces a new farm type that starts players with two chickens and features unique “chewy blue grass” that animals love, along with a honeymoon period after marriage to prevent spouses from being upset all day.

Players will now have the ability to color-code their jellies, wines, pickles, and juices while in storage, adding a new level of organization to their farms. However, it’s important to note that the 1.6 update is currently only available on PC, with no confirmed release date for consoles or mobile devices as of yet. Fans of Stardew Valley can expect to spend a lot of time unpacking and exploring the multitude of changes and additions that this update brings to the beloved farming simulator game.
