Motorola is set to launch its next flagship phone, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, on April 3, starting with a release in India. The company has not yet revealed its plans for a global launch. In the US, the phone is expected to be known as the Motorola Edge Plus (2024), succeeding the previous model. In China, it may be named the Motorola X50 Ultra. The device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and boasts a 144Hz display along with a 50MP primary camera and AI-enhanced features.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, equipped with a 6.7-inch pOLED 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and is claimed to be the world’s first Pantone-validated display. The phone boasts a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary shooter, also Pantone-validated. The term “Pantone-validated” ensures true-to-life colors on the screen and in images captured by the phone’s camera. The AI features of the Edge 50 Pro include AI wallpaper generation, AI Enhanced Images, AI Adaptive Stabilization, auto-focus tracking, and Tilt Mode.

Although the official chipset for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has not been confirmed by the company, it is speculated to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. However, the Chinese variant X50 Ultra is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. Additional rumored specs include a 13MP ultrawide camera, a 4,500mAh battery, 125W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the display.
