Joliet, Illinois homicide suspect found deceased.

Law enforcement officials in Joliet, Illinois were searching for a suspect, Romeo Nance, after seven people were found dead in two homes. Nance was found by U.S. Marshals near Natalia, Texas and he was believed to have taken his own life with a handgun. Officers were investigating two shootings that had taken place on Sunday, and had been monitoring one of the homes as part of their investigation. Nance was believed to be involved in both the fatal and non-fatal shootings that occurred on January 21, 2024.

The victims in the homes were known to Nance, whose last known address was on the same block where the crimes were discovered. The same red Toyota Camry that Nance was believed to be driving was also associated with the address, and was identified in the investigation into the Sunday shootings. Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans stated that it was the worst crime scene he had ever been associated with in his 29-year career as a police officer. No motive has been determined at this time, but Evans believes that the Sunday shootings had some correlation with the devastating scene discovered on Monday.

As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, the victims have not yet been identified. Despite finding the suspect, Romeo Nance, who was reportedly involved in multiple shootings, authorities are still working to piece together the events that led to this heartbreaking discovery. The community is left reeling from the devastating loss of seven individuals in their neighborhood, as law enforcement works to uncover the facts behind the shocking deaths and bring closure to the affected families and loved ones.
