As a result, the last day in Oakland for In-N-Out will be on March 24, with all employees having the option to transfer to nearby locations or receive a severance package.
While the closure negatively impacts the local community and the employees and their families, In-N-Out intends to continue supporting local charities in Oakland through the In-N-Out Burger Foundation and Slave 2 Nothing Foundation. The decision comes as annual crime data released by the Oakland Police Department indicates an increase in robberies by 38% and burglaries by 23% between 2022 and 2023.
