Ikea is shaking up the gaming furniture industry with a new line that challenges the typical dark and edgy aesthetic associated with gamers. The Brännboll collection focuses on blending in with existing home decor, offering seating options like an armchair that converts to a lounging position, a rocking-style chair that moves with your body, and an inflatable donut-style chair with a matching footstool.

In addition to innovative seating options, the collection includes a foldable “gaming station” that transforms into a wardrobe, complete with integrated PC tower storage and cable management. Other items in the collection include a storage box that doubles as a side table, display shelving, and textile accessories like a mousepad, rug, and throw. The range is inspired by street sports and athleisure, featuring a mix of neutrals and bright colors that seamlessly blend into modern homes, making it suitable for anyone looking to create adaptable gaming spaces.

Ikea’s product design developer, Philip Dilé, expressed that the Brännboll collection aims to make gaming accessible to everyone and integrate seamlessly into any living space. The company is emphasizing the versatility of these pieces, which cater to both children and adults. While pricing details are not yet available, more information about the collection is expected to be unveiled before its official launch in September.
