Honda Prologue EV: Range, Battery, and Charging Specifications Unveiled – 13 words

Honda has shared new details about its upcoming 2024 Honda Prologue, the company’s first all-electric SUV. The Prologue, built on GM’s Ultium platform, is expected to have an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles on a single charge, thanks to its 85 kWh battery. This makes it comparable to the Chevy Blazer EV, which also has a range of 279 miles on a full charge. Both vehicles have similar features and dimensions, but the Prologue stands out with its inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a feature that GM has decided to exclude from its EVs.

Honda plans to offer various charging package options for Prologue buyers, including public charging credits. One package includes an 11.5 kW home charging station with installation incentives and public charging credits. Another package offers a slower but portable 7.6 kW charger, along with installation and public charging credits. The third option provides public charging credits for those who already have a Level 2 home charger or live in an apartment. Additionally, new Honda and Acura EV owners will receive free DC fast charging at Electrify America stations, up to 60 kWh.

The Prologue is set to be released in early 2024, with a starting price in the upper $40,000s. It may qualify for the $7,500 federal tax incentive, similar to the Chevy Blazer EV. Honda has plans to introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030, aiming for a sales volume of 2 million vehicles. The Prologue is a significant step for Honda in its electrification process, as it is the company’s first electric vehicle in the US since the compliance-driven 2015 Honda Fit EV. Honda’s next EV, a larger SUV, is expected to arrive in 2025 and will run on the company’s own e Architecture platform.
