Gurman confirms no Apple Event for iPads and Macs in the works.

Apple’s new iPad and Mac models will not be unveiled at a traditional event, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Instead, Apple plans to introduce these products through online videos and marketing campaigns on its website. This approach is different from the company’s usual practice of hosting grand events for new product launches. The new iPad and Mac models are expected to be revealed with press releases on the Apple Newsroom website, with Gurman anticipating several new products to be announced.

Among the products that Gurman expects Apple to announce are two new iPad Pro models with the M3 chip and OLED displays, a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, two new iPad Air models (including a 12.9-inch model), at least one new Apple Pencil, and new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with the M3 chip. The new iPad Pro models are rumored to be thinner and equipped with a landscape-oriented front camera like the iPad 10. Gurman predicts that a special version of iOS 17.4 with support for the new hardware will be released by the end of March, suggesting that the new devices will likely arrive in March or April.

While Apple is gearing up for these product announcements, skepticism persists due to past inaccuracies in reporting. Supercharged reported that Apple has scheduled briefings with select members of the media and is planning an “in-store refresh” that could indicate imminent new product releases. Additionally, iOS 17.4 includes significant changes in compliance with the Digital Markets Act, with Apple expected to release a special version of the software later in the month. Despite expectations for exciting new releases from Apple, caution remains warranted based on past reporting discrepancies.
