Fatal shooting in downtown Stockton leaves 1 dead and 1 injured, police confirm

In downtown Stockton, a shooting incident occurred, resulting in the death of one teenager and the hospitalization of another, according to the Stockton Police Department. The incident was reported around 4:35 p.m. on North Center and East Lindsay streets. Upon arrival, officers found two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one of the teenagers was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The police spokesperson was unable to confirm which teenager had died.

Following the shooting, Stockton officers and the California Highway Patrol secured the area where the incident occurred. Witnesses claimed to have heard gunshots and observed a person lying on the ground near a grassy area. First responders were seen providing CPR to the injured individual. Additionally, law enforcement officers detained a man, although it remains unclear whether he is connected to the shooting. Unfortunately, details regarding the suspects and the cause of the shooting have not been released.

This shooting incident is one in a series of reported shootings in Stockton over the weekend. One of these incidents resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man. The situation is currently under investigation, and further updates will be provided by KCRA 3 as the story develops.
