Bethesda has finally announced the long-awaited next-gen update to Fallout 4, set to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on April 25th. Originally planned for 2023, the update was delayed to 2024 before settling on the upcoming release date. The patch aims to bring native applications for the consoles, Performance mode and Quality mode settings, and 60 fps gameplay to enhance the post-apocalyptic open-world role-playing game.

In addition to technical enhancements, the update also includes new content such as a new Enclave quest, Halloween decorations for settlements, and a Makeshift Weapon Pack featuring unconventional objects turned into deadly weapons. The free Creation Club items themed to the Enclave introduce new weapon and armor skins, including the Tesla Cannon, Hellfire and X-02 power armor, and the heavy incinerator. With the update, Fallout 4 will also become Steam Deck verified, making it playable on Steam’s handheld gaming device.

Fallout 4 fans can look forward to a variety of quest updates, stability improvements, and widescreen support on PC alongside the next-gen update. The announcement of the release date for the patch marks an exciting development for players eagerly awaiting an enhanced gaming experience within the immersive world of Fallout 4. The April 25th launch will bring a range of improvements and new content across different gaming platforms, providing both technical enhancements and fresh adventures for players to enjoy.
