The latest leaks of the upcoming Google Pixel Fold 2 reveals the design and dimensions of the smartphone. These CAD-based renders depict a new, controversial design, especially in the camera department. There is no camera ‘visor’ at the back of the phone, making room for a rounded rectangular island with two oval-shaped areas carrying the cameras. This move seems to be pushing the boundaries of smartphone design and changing it into its new course. Measuring in at 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27 mm when unfolded, as well as 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54 mm when folded, the Pixel Fold 2 is squarer and thinner than its predecessor, the Pixel Fold.

Carrying on from the leaks pioneer, the unfolded smartphone will have a 7.9″ screen, increasing slightly when the corners are taken into account. The Charcoal color version of the Pixel Fold 2 showcases an under-display selfie camera on the top right of the inner screen, leading to smaller bezels. The outer screen, 6.4″ in size, is larger than the original Pixel Fold’s while featuring a centered hole-punch for a selfie camera. In addition, there are rumors that the Pixel Fold 2 might employ the tensor G4 chipset, featuring 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, making it a pioneering device in the eyes of Google. It is expected to launch in October 2024 alongside the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
