BTK Serial Killer Emerges as Top Suspect in 2 Oklahoma Cold Cases

Dennis Rader, also known as the “BTK” serial killer, is now a prime suspect in two unsolved murders in Oklahoma and Missouri, according to authorities. Investigators searched a property in Park City, Kansas that Rader once owned as they continued to search for connections to these cold cases. Rader, who is currently serving 10 consecutive life terms in Kansas for his previous murders, has been linked to additional unsolved murders and missing persons cases.

The search in Park City is closely tied to the disappearance of Cynthia Kinney, who went missing in Oklahoma in 1976. Rader had lived in Park City for many years, and two of the murders he confessed to were committed in that area. During the search, investigators moved concrete blocks to dig into the property. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office stated that the ongoing investigation has revealed potential connections to other unsolved murders and missing persons cases in the Kansas and Missouri areas, all of which could be linked to Rader.

Additionally, Rader is also a prime suspect in the death of Shawna Beth Garber, whose body was found in Missouri in 1990. Rader, who referred to himself as BTK (bind, torture, kill), led a double life as a respected community member and family man while secretly committing heinous crimes. His daughter, Kerri Rawson, has been assisting with the re-opened investigations into Kinney and Garber’s murders and hopes for the formation of a cold case BTK task force to help solve other potential victims’ cases.
