Astronauts at Space Station Discuss Football and Taylor Swift for Super Bowl 2024 (Video)

Two NASA astronauts on the International Space Station got into the spirit of Super Bowl LVIII by tossing a football in preparation for the big game. In a video shared by NASA, astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara were seen floating in a packed module of the space station, surrounded by equipment, as they played catch. The video also included a Taylor Swift reference, as the singer’s recent interest in football was mentioned by the astronauts.

Not only did the astronauts participate in the Super Bowl fun, but the Canadian Space Agency also joined in on the celebration. The agency released a video showing its Dextre robot on the station’s hull wearing a football referee jersey, giving a touchdown sign as the crowd went wild. This isn’t the first time NASA has been involved in the Super Bowl, with previous events including space-themed experiences and even a former NFL player turned astronaut participating in coin tosses while in space.

It seems that the excitement of the Super Bowl even reaches outer space, as astronauts and space robots joined in on the pre-game activities. The playful video shared by NASA and the Canadian Space Agency brought some lighthearted fun to the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII, showing that even in space, the love for football and the big game is undeniable. This unique event further demonstrates the ingenuity and creativity of those living and working in space.
