Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to officially launch on June 26. However, an early preview of the game will be available at an event closing the Summer Game Fest on June 8. This event, titled "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Game Premiere," will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. It will feature live gameplay and a panel discussion with Hideo Kojima and other key contributors.
The sequel picks up after the events of the first Death Stranding, with Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, returning to a world of challenges instigated by Fragile, portrayed by Léa Seydoux. Recent trailers indicate the sequel will expand on traversal challenges introduced in the original game, offering new terrain and weather elements, along with new tools for Sam.
The event is scheduled for June 8 at the Orpheum Theatre at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT, and in-person attendance requires online ticket registration. For those unable to attend in Los Angeles, the event will be streamed live on YouTube.
This premiere marks the beginning of the "Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2," promoting the game before and after its release. Additionally, a film adaptation of Death Stranding is being developed by A24 and Kojima Productions, with Michael Sarnoski at the helm as writer and director.
Geoff Keighley’s partnership with Kojima continues to strengthen as they collaborate to promote the new game. This event is one of several live streams that will be part of Summer Game Fest 2025, including showcases like Day of the Devs and Devolver Direct.
