Most recently, Trump referred to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as the leader of Turkey and addressed a crowd from Sioux Falls, South Dakota while being in Sioux City, Iowa. His use of sarcasm and defensiveness in the wake of these blunders has sparked concern among voters, with a large percentage expressing doubts about his mental and physical fitness for serving as president.
In contrast, although President Biden has also made gaffes and mistakes, he has not made his predecessor’s mental fitness a major campaign issue as Trump has. Despite concerns expressed about Biden’s age and mental health, this has not become a focal point in the same way it has for Trump. Thus, the age and mental fitness of presidential candidates have emerged as significant ongoing concerns, with voters expressing doubts about both Trump and Biden.
