Toyota has announced a name change aimed at helping consumers more easily identify the powertrain options available for its Prius and Rav4 models. The 2025 Prius Plug-in will feature an updated “PHEV” (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) badge on the rear to reflect this change. Meanwhile, the Rav4 will no longer display the blue halo in the Toyota logo on both the front and rear of the vehicle.
The specifications for the 2025 Prius models remain largely unchanged. The plug-in version continues to be equipped with a 13.6 kWh battery, offering a maximum electric-only driving range of 44 miles on the SE trim.
The Rav4 features an 18.5 kWh battery with an EV range of 42 miles. It supports 6.6 kW charging speeds, enabling a full charge in approximately two hours using a Level 2 charger. By comparison, the Prius requires about four hours to achieve a full charge on a similar charger.
