Sony Investigates PS5 Pro Specs Leak Reports

Published on

Sony is reportedly conducting an internal investigation to identify the source of a leak regarding the specs of the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro. The details were leaked through documentation that appeared to be official, prompting YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead to upload a video discussing the information. Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson subsequently confirmed the leaked specs, leading to Sony launching an investigation to uncover who shared the confidential details.

The leaked specs for the PlayStation 5 Pro suggest a significant increase in power, with an upgraded AMD Zen2 CPU clocked at speeds up to 4.4 GHz and faster RAM. According to the leaked spec sheet, these enhancements will result in a 45% improvement in rendering, as well as potential advancements in Ray-tracing capabilities and support for 8K resolution. Despite these promising details, Sony has not officially confirmed the existence of the PS5 Pro, leaving fans to speculate on the potential upgrades and features of the rumored console.

While Sony has not responded to requests for comment on the leaked specs or the investigation, reports indicate that the company is gearing up for more hardware releases. With rumors circulating about a potential PS5 Pro release later this year, and recent launches of the slimmed-down PS5 and the portable PlayStation Portal, it appears that Sony is committed to expanding its console offerings to cater to a wider range of gaming preferences.
