Severe Storms in Michigan Cause 330,000 Power Outages, Tornado Hits I-96.

A suspected tornado in southern Michigan caused several cars to flip on an interstate, resulting in potential injuries. Heavy rains, strong winds, and power outages have spread across southern parts of the state due to severe thunderstorms. A large and extremely dangerous tornado was confirmed in the area, hitting cities like Williamston and Fowlerville. Emergency crews are working to clear downed trees and power lines in Ingham County, where the damage was reported. Additionally, more than 340,000 people are without power in southern Michigan, and the number is expected to rise as the storms continue.

Severe weather conditions continue to affect southern Michigan, with a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 1 a.m. ET. Wind gusts of up to 85 mph, hail up to 2 inches in diameter, and possible tornadoes pose the biggest threats. Eaton County has already reported a powerful gust of 70 mph. The storms follow a previous round of heavy rainfall in southern Michigan and northern Ohio, with Belleville receiving 7.36 inches of rain and Danbury nearly 8 inches.

Eaton County has already reported a gust of 70 mph. Prior to these severe storms, heavy rainfall affected the area, resulting in 7.36 inches of rain in Belleville and nearly 8 inches in Danbury. The storms are expected to travel south into northern Ohio.
