A group of senators has called on the Department of Commerce to increase transparency regarding the agreements made under the CHIPS and Science Act. These lawmakers emphasize the necessity for the agency to ensure that the U.S. semiconductor industry remains “safe and sustainable.” In a letter addressed to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Senators including Ed Markey (D-Mass.) expressed their concerns and recommendations.
