Directed by Lawrence Kasdan, who co-wrote several “Star Wars” films and “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the documentary series premiered its first season in 2022 to widespread critical praise. The episodes explored ILM’s foundation, the efforts to complete the original “Star Wars,” the challenges of working on its successful sequel, the company’s contributions to ’80s blockbusters, its transition to digital technology, and its landmark achievements on “Jurassic Park.”

During the “Light & Magic” panel at the Star Wars Celebration event, attendees received insights into the forthcoming second season, set to premiere today on Disney+. A trailer showcasing the upcoming content was shared with fans, building anticipation.

The second season of “Light & Magic” continues to chronicle the history of ILM, beginning with the return of “Star Wars” to theaters with “The Phantom Menace.” The new season comprises three episodes and is now available for streaming on Disney+.
