This Sunday, Season 8 of Rick and Morty will premiere on Adult Swim. To mark the occasion, Mashable Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko interviewed the voice cast to explore their experiences returning to the world of Pickle Rick, Space Beth, and numerous Mortys.
With a talented team of comedy writers, this sci-fi cartoon series has consistently impressed critics and fans. The voice cast sometimes feels envy over particularly clever lines. Ian Cardoni, who began voicing Rick Sanchez in Season 7, expressed his excitement about making some of the mad scientist’s catchphrases his own.
Spencer Grammer, voicing Rick’s surly granddaughter Summer Smith, revealed her favorite scene personally, but wished some lines from her scene partner were hers. Harry Belden, who took over the role of Morty in Season 7, confessed that he often quotes Morty’s mom, Beth, voiced by Sarah Chalke, a sentiment shared by his co-stars.
As for what kind of witty one-liners and humorous rants about lust will appear this season, viewers will have to watch Adult Swim to find out.
Season 8 of Rick and Morty premieres on May 25 at 11 p.m. ET on Adult Swim, and will be available for streaming on Max and Hulu starting September 1.
