The Princeton Alumni Weekly recently reported that Princeton University is reinforcing its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, even as such efforts are facing criticism across the nation. Following this report, the Trump administration initiated a series of legal and rhetorical challenges against universities, accusing them of infringing on freedom of speech and engaging in “pervasive and repugnant race-based preferences and other forms of racial discrimination.” The administration is also considering significant reductions in funding to universities. Additionally, Vice President J.D. Vance and others have proposed the idea of imposing taxes on the income generated from university endowments.
