Nvidia has revealed that its 5060 series of GeForce RTX GPUs will be accessible for purchase starting April 16. This series includes two models: the RTX 5060 Ti, which will be available in both 8GB and 16GB VRAM variants, and the RTX 5060, which will come solely in an 8GB VRAM option. The RTX 5060 Ti is scheduled for release on April 16, priced at $379 for the 8GB version and $429 for the 16GB version. The RTX 5060 is expected to hit the market in May, priced at $299.
The introduction of the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti aims to make advanced gaming features more affordable for gamers who might not be able to invest in a $2,000 GPU. These new GPUs boast DLSS 4 support and full ray tracing capabilities, enhancing both visual quality and frame rates.
Matt Wuebbling, Nvidia’s Vice President of GeForce Marketing, stated in an official press release that the RTX 5060 series provides next-generation performance and AI-enhanced visuals beginning at $299. Powered by NVIDIA’s advanced Blackwell architecture, these GPUs feature DLSS 4 technology applicable in over 100 games, promising remarkable visuals, high frame rates, and swift responsiveness.
The DLSS 4 technology embedded in the RTX 5060 series includes features such as Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and Nvidia Reflex, aimed at minimizing latency during gameplay while delivering faster frame rates and improved resolutions.
Upon the new GPUs’ launch, more than 100 games will support DLSS 4, including titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Black Myth: Wukong. Nvidia claims that, at maximum settings, some games will offer "stunning ray-traced visuals at over 100 frames per second."
Prospective buyers aiming to upgrade their current setups are advised to act promptly as Nvidia GPUs tend to sell out quickly, reminiscent of the shortage experienced during the RTX 3080 launch in 2020. The ongoing uncertainties around U.S. tariff policies could also influence the availability of these new models. Notably, product pages for the RTX 5060 Ti have yet to be posted.
In addition to the GPU releases, Nvidia announced that laptops equipped with RTX-5060 GPUs from major manufacturers will become available in May, starting at $1,099. These laptops promise reduced latency and double the frame rates of previous models, and they will be available in various configurations and sizes, starting at 14.9 millimeters in thickness.
Further details regarding the RTX 5060 launch can be accessed on Nvidia’s official website.
