On Tuesday, Representative Don Bacon (R-Neb.) suggested that other states consider adopting Nebraska’s electoral system. However, acknowledging that this change is unlikely to happen, he proposed that Nebraska should transition to a winner-take-all system for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Bacon remarked, “Well, I think two things can be true.” He elaborated on this point, indicating his support for both the widespread adoption of Nebraska’s system by other states and for Nebraska’s shift to a winner-take-all approach in the absence of such adoption.
