Fox Business host Larry Kudlow provided his analysis of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign speech at the Ellipse during a segment of “Kudlow.” Kudlow emphasized that a positive outlook generally triumphs over a negative one, stating that optimism prevails and negativity fails.
Kudlow critiqued Kamala Harris’ speech, characterizing it as highly negative and largely devoid of positive elements. During her address at the Washington Ellipse, Harris mentioned former President Donald Trump 24 times, none of which were in a complimentary manner. Kudlow highlighted that her approach was backward-looking, focusing on attacking Trump rather than charting a new course. Concurrently, President Joe Biden, speaking nearby, referred to approximately 80 million Trump supporters as “garbage.”
According to Kudlow, former President Trump responded in North Carolina, addressing Biden’s remarks directly. Trump expressed that Biden and Harris’s comments reveal their true sentiments towards Trump supporters and argued that effective leadership requires a genuine appreciation for Americans.
Harris’s rhetoric was described by Kudlow as reiterating the “threat to democracy” theme, which he argued has lost its effectiveness over the years. He contended that repeatedly attacking Trump with numerous accusations would not work this time either. Kudlow noted that Harris’s strategy, focused on government interventions like price and rent controls and increased entitlement spending, does not address the concerns of middle-class families who are dealing with financial pressures amid rising costs.
Kudlow pointed out that Harris mentioned the intention to deport criminals, which he found noteworthy but questioned her previous actions over the past four years. He suggested that voters are hesitant about a second Biden-Harris term due to high costs in housing and living expenses, declining real wages, and issues like immigration and foreign conflicts.
In contrast, Kudlow highlighted Trump’s approach, which includes policies like tax reduction, governmental downsizing, energy independence, and strong border control. He argued that Trump has established a new Republican coalition focused on revitalizing America and that this coalition aligns with traditional middle-class values.
Trump articulated this coalition during his speech in North Carolina, emphasizing the unity among diverse groups and the shared goal of making America great. Kudlow concluded that positive messages are effective, reiterating his belief that positivity ultimately overcomes negativity. This analysis reflects Larry Kudlow’s commentary from the October 30, 2024, edition of “Kudlow.”
