Kudlow: Harris Broke It, Trump’s New Team Will Fix It

Published on

FOX Business host Larry Kudlow discusses the affordability crisis in the United States on his show “Kudlow.” The topic of discussion is centered on Kamala Harris’s impact on the economy and Donald Trump’s plan to address these issues with a new team.

During an event at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Donald Trump opened his speech by asking, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” He characterized this question as a key closing argument in his address. Trump claimed that the United States would enter a new golden age quickly and stated, “On issue after issue, Kamala broke it, but I will fix it.”

Referencing a Wall Street Journal op-ed by Senators Ted Cruz and Rick Scott, Kudlow highlighted the so-called Biden-Harris affordability crisis, focusing on wages, cars, and housing. According to the piece, consumer prices in U.S. cities have risen 26% faster than private-sector wages. The average cost of owning a new car, including related expenses, increased from $11,579 in January 2021 to $15,337 today, marking a 32% price hike.

Additionally, the annual cost of living in a home rose from $19,119 in early 2021 to $36,736, an increase of 92%. The cost of owning a new car and home combined is reportedly 70% higher now than four years ago. According to Kudlow, these figures suggest that Americans are not better off than they were previously.

Kudlow commended the senators for their analysis and reiterated the notion that Kamala Harris’s policies have contributed to the current economic issues, which Trump promises to rectify. Rudy Giuliani also praised Trump’s commitment to addressing these concerns and highlighted Trump’s newly established team, which includes individuals such as JD Vance, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Byron Donalds, Hulk Hogan, and Dana White.

Vivek Ramaswamy’s remarks at the event emphasized restoring law and order, growing the economy, and reviving national pride under Trump’s leadership. Ramaswamy asserted that Trump is the leader who can unite the country.

Trump’s appeal, according to Kudlow, is underscored by his strong closing arguments, his appearances at events like the Al Smith Dinner and a rally in the South Bronx, and his high-profile speech at Madison Square Garden. Kudlow concluded that Trump’s ability to assemble a competent team demonstrates his confidence and good judgment, reinforcing the sentiment that “Kamala broke it, Trump will fix it.” This segment was adapted from Larry Kudlow’s commentary on the October 29, 2024, edition of “Kudlow.”
