On Friday, Apple introduced its inaugural developer beta for iOS 18.4, featuring a new “Priority Notifications” feature enabled by Apple Intelligence. This addition is designed to assist users in managing their notifications by prioritizing vital alerts and reducing interruptions from less significant ones.
These priority notifications are presented in a distinct section on the phone’s Lock Screen. Apple Intelligence determines which notifications should appear in this section, although users can swipe up to access all notifications.
Currently, notifications on the iPhone are sorted in chronological order, displaying the most recent alerts first. With the new feature, important notifications will appear first, even if they were received earlier compared to others.
According to 9to5Mac, the Priority Notifications feature is disabled by default. Users can enable it by navigating to the Settings app, selecting the “Notifications” option, and accessing the “Prioritize Notifications” section to activate the feature.
Additionally, Apple announced that Apple Intelligence will be integrated into the Vision Pro as a component of visionOS 2.4. A beta version of this software is available for developers, with a public release planned for April. The technology firm also unveiled Apple News+ Food, a forthcoming section that will allow users to search and save recipes from various existing News+ publishing partners.
