HP has recently introduced HP Print AI, marketed as “the industry’s first intelligent print” experience. This software aims to streamline and enhance the printing process from setup to support. Among the various tools included, the most notable feature is referred to as Perfect Output.
Perfect Output addresses the common issue of printing from web pages, which often results in suboptimal output. According to the company, the embedded algorithms minimize unnecessary white space and eliminate ads, optimizing the image size to ensure printouts from websites are comparable in quality to those from a word processor. HP claims that this feature ensures everything “fits perfectly on the page for the first time.” Moreover, Perfect Output is designed to improve the printing of spreadsheets, which are typically challenging to print efficiently.
Beginning today, this feature will be available to select customers as part of a beta rollout. HP informed Engadget that Perfect Output is compatible with any of the company’s printers, provided the appropriate driver is installed and the printer is connected to a Windows 10 or Windows 11 device. Following the collection of customer feedback, a broader release is anticipated.
HP Print AI also leverages artificial intelligence to personalize support for each user. The company asserts that its “intelligent technology anticipates” the needs of consumers, particularly aiding in setup and memorizing user preferences. Additionally, the software includes a chatbot capable of handling language-based queries, powered by a proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) referred to as a “print language model” or PLM.
Currently, these tools are integrated into the driver software. HP indicates that they will be prominently featured in an upcoming app update planned for the next year.
