A passenger on an Air India flight recently shared a video documenting the unsanitary conditions of the first-class cabin. The video, posted by TikTok user Anip Patel under the handle @mondayswithmohan, revealed dirt, hair, and ripped furnishings around his seat. Patel was traveling on a 15-hour nonstop flight from Chicago to Delhi on September 16.
Patel’s footage depicted various issues, including dirty crevices and mildew on various surfaces. He began the video by stating, “Come with me on the worst first class cabin I’ve ever been on,” and described extensive mildew, ruined compartments, and tangled, dirty headphones. Additionally, he criticized the “hot towel” provided, which was cold, and noted that many food items listed on the menu were unavailable.
Despite some positive remarks about the soup and other in-flight freebies, Patel reported that most of the food was either average or not available. A significant source of frustration for him was the broken entertainment system, which left him without any options to pass the time during the lengthy flight.
The video quickly garnered attention, with over 4,000 comments from shocked viewers. Some noted that they routinely avoid Air India due to similar experiences, while others shared their own stories of unsatisfactory flights with the airline.
Fox Business has reached out to Air India for a comment regarding the video and the conditions reported by Patel.
