Express Scripts, one of the nation’s major pharmacy benefit managers, initiated legal action against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Tuesday, seeking the retraction of a report. The report in question, released in July, asserts that industry intermediaries such as pharmacy benefit managers contribute to elevated drug prices. Express Scripts contends that the report contains numerous false and misleading claims about the pharmacy benefit management industry and does not fulfill its intended purpose.
