The new Samsung Galaxy S24 series is now official, consisting of three variants – the base S24, the Plus, and the Ultra. These models are now available for pre-order, and Samsung is offering compelling trade-in values in many markets to entice customers to upgrade to the latest models. Although the exterior design of the Galaxy S24 and S24+ looks similar to the Galaxy S22 and S22+, there are significant hardware and software upgrades with the 2024 models.

The screens of the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are noticeably brighter at peak levels compared to the Galaxy S22 and S22+, reaching up to 2600 nits of brightness. The non-Ultra models also have a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate for the first time. In addition, the new models offer new Vision Booster technology and introduce a feature called Adaptive Color Tone, similar to Apple’s True Tone, which uses the cameras on the phones to determine the best color and white balance for the screen based on lighting conditions.

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are equipped with newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chips, boasting faster CPU and improved performance compared to the older Galaxy S22 and S22+ models. The battery capacity of the new models has also been increased, along with better cooling and higher storage options. Furthermore, the camera hardware has seen minor improvements in AI and One UI 6.1 features, and the new models come loaded with Android 14, offering a far superior software experience with a wide range of new features and capabilities.
