Solos has introduced its new AirGo3 smartglasses, which prioritize audio features, comfort, usability, modular design, and affordability. Priced between $199 and $299, the AR glasses are easy to set up and use, even with added prescription lenses or photochromatic lenses that darken in sunlight. The AirGo3s offer impressive audio quality, a user-friendly companion app, a range of smart features, and a sleek appearance, making them a practical and stylish choice.
Unlike the infamous Google Glass, the AirGo3 does not have a heads-up display screen. Instead, all the technology is housed in the arms of the glasses, which can be easily swapped with different styles of front frames and lenses using the unique SmartHinge system. Solos initially explored a heads-up display but ultimately aimed to create an affordable and comfortable eyewear product. Kenneth Fan, co-founder of Solos, acknowledged that a heads-up display may be incorporated in future versions as display technology advances.
While the AirGo3 lacks cameras like Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, both products seamlessly integrate advanced technology into a conventional glasses design. This marks a significant step forward for smartglasses as they become more inconspicuous and accessible. Notable features of the AirGo3 include 100 decibel speakers on each side, AI-driven live translation for multilingual conversations, and the ability to interact with ChatGPT, providing users with an enhanced and convenient AR experience.
