No Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas is complete without viewing one of the holiday-adjacent Peanuts specials. Currently, Apple TV holds the television rights to “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” However, Apple TV has decided to make these Peanuts specials available to everyone this year, regardless of subscription status.
Apple has announced that each of the Peanuts holiday specials will be accessible to all on two specific days each month before Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be available for free streaming on October 19 and 20. This Halloween special features Linus waiting for the return of the Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown ends up with rocks during trick-or-treating.
“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be streamable on November 23 and 24. This special includes Peppermint Patty inviting the entire gang to a Thanksgiving feast, while Snoopy organizes his own Thanksgiving meal.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available for free streaming on December 14 and 15. Known as perhaps the most famous Peanuts special, it includes numerous iconic moments, such as Snoopy’s prize-winning holiday display and the transformation of a small, sad tree into a vibrant Christmas tree. This special also features an acclaimed musical score by Lee Mendelson and Vince Guaraldi.
