According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Automatic Data Processing (NASDAQ: ADP), a prominent provider of human resources software, is close to finalizing an agreement to acquire WorkForce Software, a payroll solutions firm. The purchase price is expected to be approximately $1.2 billion. Sources familiar with the matter indicate that the acquisition would involve buying the Michigan-based company from its existing investors.
