Raytheon, a leading defense contractor, has announced that its subsidiary Collins Aerospace Systems has been awarded a significant contract worth $163 million by the Naval Air Systems Command. The contract requires Collins Aerospace Systems to provide digital imaging systems, which will be integrated into the U.S. Navy’s fleet of aircraft carriers. These advanced systems will enhance the Navy’s surveillance capabilities and improve situational awareness during critical operations.

Under this agreement, Collins Aerospace Systems will deliver a range of imaging systems, including high-resolution cameras and sensor technologies. These cutting-edge imaging solutions will be installed on various naval aircraft carriers, providing real-time video feeds to support vital operations such as aircraft launch and recovery, as well as general surveillance. By equipping these carriers with state-of-the-art imaging systems, the Navy aims to bolster its overall operational effectiveness and ensure the safety of its personnel.

Furthermore, Collins Aerospace Systems will be responsible for the integration and maintenance of the imaging systems throughout their lifecycle. This includes training Navy personnel in the utilization of these systems, as well as providing ongoing support and technical assistance.
