Several restaurants are offering special deals as part of Tax Day promotions. Americans approaching the IRS deadline for filing federal income tax returns, which falls on a Tuesday, can benefit from these offers. For those seeking an extension, requests must be filed or postmarked by April 15.

Great American Cookies is providing customers with a free chocolate chip cookie cake slice upon the purchase of one, available at participating locations. The promotion requires customers to mention the offer at checkout. Paris Baguette is offering rewards program members a complimentary pastry when purchasing a beverage, with the condition that the pastry is of equal or lesser value.

Krispy Kreme is offering a promotion termed a “sweet tax break,” where customers purchasing a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts in-store will receive a second dozen for only the sales tax applicable in their state. An online order using the promo code “TAXBREAK” also provides an additional dozen for free.

For those preferring savory options, Checkers and Rally’s present a deal offering two sandwiches for $3, including their crispy fish sandwich and spicy chicken sandwich. Fazoli’s is offering a “buy-one-get-one” free baked spaghetti deal with the code “TAX25.”

Potbelly Sandwich Works has announced a promotion for April 15, where customers can acquire a free Original sandwich with the purchase of a Big or Original sandwich using the promo code “BOGO.” This offer is available at over 440 Potbelly locations nationwide.

Shake Shack has introduced a special offer lasting from April 10 to April 27, where customers spending $10.40 can receive a complimentary single-patty Black Truffle Burger, Black Truffle ‘Shroom sandwich, or Black Truffle Parmesan Fries using the promo code “TRUFFLETAX.” The offer is valid for purchases made at kiosks in-Shack or via the Shake Shack Mobile App or website.

Round Table Pizza offers a promotional code “RPT220” to reduce the cost of a large or extra-large pizza by $7, valid through April 17 at participating locations. California Pizza Kitchen presents a CPK Rewards deal, providing $10 off a $40 purchase for dining in or takeout from Monday to April 17, excluding specific locations like Hawaii, Guam, and others.

These offers come ahead of the tax filing deadline. As of April 4, the IRS reported receiving over 101.4 million tax returns for the 2023 tax season, with more than 100.3 million processed. Over 67.7 million refunds, averaging $3,116 each, have been issued.
