Stuart Varney: Harris’ Border Chaos Excuse Exemplifies ‘Misinformation’

Published on

On a recent segment of “Varney & Co.,” host Stuart Varney addressed Vice President Kamala Harris’s handling of immigration issues, specifically criticizing her performance as the unofficial “border czar.” Varney argued that her explanations regarding the entry of 8.5 million undocumented immigrants during her tenure amounted to “classic misinformation.”

According to Varney, Harris has been vulnerable on the issue of illegal immigration, having been tasked with addressing border challenges early in her vice presidency of three and a half years. Though she was not officially titled as the “border czar,” Varney asserted that she was given the responsibility to handle border issues, a task in which he believes she failed.

As the vice president begins granting more interviews, her team faces the challenge of rationalizing the influx of undocumented immigrants. Harris has attempted to place blame on former President Trump and the failure of this year’s border legislation, failing, according to Varney, to account for the previous years of her administration.

In an interview with Charlamagne tha God, Harris stated that upon taking office, their first action was to introduce a bill aimed at repairing the immigration system, suggesting that the problem originated prior to her administration. Varney dismissed this explanation, describing the bill, known as “The U.S. Citizenship Act,” as primarily an amnesty effort offering a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented migrants, which he contends bore little relation to the ensuing border issues.

According to Varney, the legislation was designed to potentially add 11 million new voters, presumably Democrats, rather than address the challenges at the border. As the election nears, Harris is reportedly struggling to distance herself from what Varney considers one of the major failures of her vice presidency.
