U.S. Consumer Sentiment Rises; Inflation Expectations Steady

The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index increased to 70.1 at the end of September, up from 69.0 in mid-September and 67.9 in August. Although sentiment is still below its historical average, partly due to frustrations with high prices, consumers are fully engaged.
